Streetlight Illuminance Mapping

This class project was an effort at a different avenue of data visualizations for social good, from a more bottom-up, citizen-centered DIY approach. We used everyday cameras and open-source scripts to measure the brightness of walking paths on Georgia Tech's campus, and mapped those brightness values along with GT police crime report data to counter the narratives around crime incidents and poorly lit areas on campus. [Note: This work simply mapped both of the data sets, and did not involve statistical analyses of their relationship.]
